General Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains how personal data is processed when you use TCG Online, create an account, join community services, play, contact us, or purchase a Supporter Membership. It is a notice, not a request to agree to every processing activity. Where consent is required, we ask separately and you may refuse or withdraw it without losing core access.

Controller and responsible entities

The platform is operated under the trading name The Card Goat Online from Avenida Paulista, 1106, Room 01, Floor 16, Bela Vista, Sao Paulo/SP, Brazil. The full legal identity and contact details of the responsible platform controller must be read together with the Legal Notice. A separate entity may provide paid membership benefits or act as seller; its identity and data role are shown before purchase and in the order confirmation.

Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use and choices you make, we process:

  • Identity and contact data: internal account ID, name or display name, email address, age-related eligibility information where needed, and linked-provider identifiers.
  • Account, community, and activity data: provider account identifiers, profile and display name, decks, gameplay, rankings, moderation records, preferences, support messages, and community interactions.
  • Device and storage data: necessary cookies, consent choices, browser and device characteristics, IP-derived security information, logs, and optional analytics identifiers after consent. Advertising and personalization storage remain denied in the current deployment.

How We Use Your Information

Your information may be used to:

  • Create and secure accounts, provide platform and membership features, and maintain game and community state.
  • Respond to support, privacy, safety, billing, cancellation, withdrawal, and rights-holder requests and send necessary service communications.
  • Diagnose errors, prevent abuse, measure reliability, and, with consent where required, understand and improve product use.

How We Collect Your Information

We receive data directly from you, from your use of the platform, from the authentication or community provider you choose, from other users who interact with you, and from service providers such as Stripe or Link. We do not require an optional community-join permission to create a TCG Online account.

Authentication and community providers

When you choose Google, Discord, Metafy, or another provider, that provider receives the request and returns the identifiers and profile fields needed for authentication. Optional permissions, such as joining a Discord community, are requested separately and are not required for a TCG Online account. Providers process data under their own notices as well as any instructions they receive from us.

Purposes and legal bases

Contract performance supports account access, gameplay, requested community functions, support, and membership delivery. Legal obligations support tax, accounting, consumer, safety, and rights-response records. Legitimate interests support narrowly necessary security, abuse prevention, reliability, moderation, service improvement without optional tracking, and legal claims after balancing user rights. Consent supports optional analytics and optional provider permissions and can be withdrawn.

Supporter Membership and payments

Stripe processes Supporter Membership payments and may provide Link. We do not receive or store full card or bank-account credentials. We receive identifiers, billing contact information, transaction and invoice references, membership status and dates, limited payment metadata, refunds, disputes, and support events needed to administer benefits, reconcile payments, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. The checkout identifies the seller and whether Link acts as merchant of record for that transaction.

Security and service telemetry

We use access controls, encryption in transit, authentication safeguards, audit and security logs, rate limits, backups, and error and performance telemetry. Browser telemetry can include page and route names, request timing, errors, interaction type, browser characteristics, and pseudonymous account context. It must not intentionally include passwords, full payment credentials, private deck contents, or message bodies unless required to diagnose a user-submitted report.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Strictly necessary cookies and local storage maintain authentication, security, language, and your privacy choices. Optional analytics remains denied until you consent; advertising and personalization storage remain denied in the current deployment. Browser settings alone are not the only control: you can reopen Privacy settings on TCG Online to accept, reject, or withdraw optional consent.

Optional analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand page use, navigation, feature performance, device and browser characteristics, and aggregated product trends. For signed-in users, we may send a persistent pseudonymous user identifier so activity can be associated across sessions. Google and TCG Online can therefore process personal data even when the identifier does not contain your name or email. Analytics remains disabled until consent and can be disabled again in Privacy settings.

Advertising

The free platform may display advertising where that feature is deployed. The current consent configuration does not permit advertising or personalization storage. Before enabling any non-essential advertising script or vendor, we must identify the vendor and purpose in this notice and obtain any consent required by law. Active members may receive an ad-free signed-in experience.

Your consent choices

Non-essential analytics is disabled until you make an affirmative choice. You can reject it without losing core platform access and can change or withdraw consent from Privacy settings. Advertising and personalization storage remain denied in the current deployment.

Disclosure of Information

Recipients may include authentication and community providers you choose, Stripe and Link for account and membership billing, hosting, database, cache, security, support, analytics, consent, and observability providers, professional advisers, and authorities where legally required. Providers acting on our instructions receive only data needed for their function. Some providers also act as independent controllers under their own notices. We do not sell personal information for money.

International transfers

TCG Online and its providers may process data in Brazil, the EEA, the United States, and other countries where they operate. Where GDPR or LGPD transfer restrictions apply, we use an applicable adequacy decision, approved contractual clauses, provider certification, or another lawful safeguard and assess supplementary measures where required. Contact [email protected] to request information about the safeguard relevant to your data.

Data Retention

Account and service data is retained while the account exists and then deleted or de-identified on a documented schedule, subject to backups and legal obligations. Security logs and browser telemetry are kept only for the limited period needed to investigate reliability, abuse, and incidents. Support, moderation, payment, tax, refund, dispute, and legal-claim records may be retained longer for the applicable limitation or statutory recordkeeping period. Vendor-side retention is controlled through our configurations and contracts where available.

Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, confirmation of processing, or information about sharing; object to legitimate-interest processing; withdraw consent as easily as it was given; and complain to your local supervisory authority or the ANPD. Rights can be limited where retention or processing is legally required. Send requests to [email protected]; we may verify identity without requesting unnecessary data.

Children's Privacy

Accounts are intended for users aged 16 or older in the EEA and UK, and at least 13 or the applicable minimum age elsewhere. A paid membership may be purchased only by an adult or with the authorization of a legal guardian where required. We do not knowingly use behavioral advertising or account-linked analytics for a user known to be underage.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this notice when our services, vendors, or legal obligations change. We will update the date above and provide prominent notice before a material change where required. A new purpose or legal basis will not be applied retrospectively without the notice or consent required by law.

Questions and complaints

Contact [email protected] first so we can investigate. EEA and UK users may also complain to the supervisory authority for their habitual residence, workplace, or the alleged infringement. Brazilian users may exercise LGPD rights and, after contacting us, petition the ANPD. These rights are not affected by a membership or account cancellation.
